Diamonds make great investment sense. They have high intrinsic value, they are always on demand and they last forever.
Diamonds is one of the safest investment purchases. The best thing about it is that it offers price stability even when the economy is going through a crisis. Diamond investments shield you from market collapses and deflation.
Between the year 2006 and 2014, colored diamonds (blue, pink and yellow) have had a mean appreciation of approximately 154.7%, and within the same duration the normal colorless diamond (white) increased by an estimated 62.4%.
According to “The Natural Color Diamond Association”, prices for natural blue diamonds has been gradually and consistently rising between 12-17% every year over the past decade.
Data shows the prices of diamonds over the past ten years have increased by approximately 32-33%, while there has been 112% appreciation on fancy colored diamonds over the last 10 years. Pink diamonds have increased more than 400% in value since 2000.
As a long term investment, natural diamonds not only maintain their value but appreciate at a far greater pace than most other investment vehicles. Diamonds also have strong value retention capability (in the long run), and even though gold carries power in terms of inflation and general value, diamonds can often have a higher resale price.
A diamond is durable, it does not break or wear off. As the hardest substance on earth you do not have to worry about anything happening to it. All you have to do is to make sure you do not lose it, and even that can be insured.
So the real question is: why not invest in something you can enjoy while you have it?
